On Monday, a famous professor had a speech in our school. The main content of this talk was the structure of the garden layout. From this speech, I know more about garden------Chinese unique construction.The professor’s speech started with a beautiful garden’s video. Then he defined the meaning of garden (it was called “YUANLIN” in Chinese).Then he told us the long history of the Chinese garden: In Zhou dynasty, the earliest garden in China appeared, but they were not beautiful. In Qin dynasty and Han dynasty, the true garden came out, it looked more beautiful than the gardens in the past However, at that moment gardens in Imperial Palace are more beautiful than private gardens. In Qing dynasty, gardens became wonderful, craftsmen not only design and build the gardens for the Royal , but also for rich people, so now we can see many gardens which built at that time was in successful businessmen’ homes. These gardens are as beautiful as the emperor’s. Afterwards the professor taught us how to design and build a beautiful. Though I can’t understand him very well, but I also feel very satisfied. He also told us that some foreigners also want to build the same gardens in their countries, but they failed. Why? Because they realized that gardens become beautiful because of China has the unique environment. They can take away the gardens, but they can’t take away the environment. Finally, he introduced several famous garden designers in Qing dynasty and finished the speech with another beautiful video.
From this talk, I know more about Chinese Culture, I consider China has many sceneries that the world haven’t seen yet, we need to let more and more people know China is a very fantastic country!
